Fourth Administrative Camp at Dadam

The 4th administrative camp conducted by the Tirap district administration on 10th Dec. ’08 at Dadam village, 20 km from Khonsa was a huge success in terms of providing various facilities to the villagers and familiarizing them with activities of the government departments. A series of such camps have been held in different places of the district under the aegis of the district administration with an aim to taking administration at the doorsteps of the people. Speaking on the occasion, Tirap Deputy Commissioner, Ankur Garg said that infrastructure for CO headquarters at Dadam is almost ready adding that once it is functional the people of Dadam and neighbouring villages would be benefited. While expressing his concern over the deplorable condition of Dadam road, Garg told the people that efforts were on to improve it and asked them to execute the government schemes
sincerely. While speaking on NREGA, the DC said that some schemes under it have been approved for Dadam area and asked the people to carry out properly. He further urged the Panchayat leaders to guide the people properly  and encouraged the villagers to take up terrace cultivation for sustainable economic development. He later gave away awards to a progressive fish farmer, best teacher and best VEC chairman. The HoDs who spoke in the meeting threw light on activities of their respective departments and asked the villagers to take maximum benefit out of the government schemes. Tirong Aboh, ZPM and Wangdi Hakhun, public leader also spoke on the occasion.
       During the camp 109 ST certificates and 32 PRCs were issued. The Food and Civil Supplies department issued 197 updated ration cards to villagers of Laho village. The Textiles and Handloom department displayed handloom products at the camp and earned Rs 3465/- through sale counter. The Forest department distributed 500 saplings of bamboo, fruits and medicinal plants during the camp. The Agriculture and Horticulture departments displayed seeds of organic crops, chemicals, bio-fertilizers and agricultural tools. The departments of Education, Fisheries and Veterinary organized a joint awareness meeting during the camp. The mobile Jansuvidha was a great hit among the people as it facilitated on the spot issuance of ST and PR certificates which was a new thing for the villagers. The health department conducted health camp in which patients were screened and given treatment. Forms for opening bank accounts and birth certificates were also issued at the camp. The DC inspected the buildings and other infrastructure at the CO headquarters, a few Km away from Dadam.
Earlier he held an interactive meeting the chiefs, GBs and Panchayat leaders. The camp was attended by people from Dadam and nearby villages. The people appreciated the district administration for the effort.
